Hello Crafty Friends!! I have been having so much fun getting lots Christmas cards made. I feel ahead of the game this year. This is so much less stressful than last minute card making. Today, I have this great card using the Christmas Pine Stamp Set and the brand NEW coordinating dies from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps.
**ALL SUPPLIES ARE LISTED BELOW!!**
I began by using the Script Background Stamp to create my background panel. I stamped this with Mocha Ink on Nutmeg cardstock then splattered on some Unravelled Mica Stain. This is a favorite technique of mine right now. This panel was cut down to 4×5.25″ and I used a corner rounder to soften the corners.
I wrapped some velvet ribbon around my background panel then popped it up with Fun Foam that is covered in Score Tape on both sides. This was placed on an A2 piece of Desert Storm with rounded corners, then adhered to a top fold heavy weight card base with rounded corners.
I stamped the pine branch images and pine cones from the Christmas Pine Stamp Set using a two toned inking method (not sure if this is the correct name but what I came up with). I used two ink pads each in green (Sage and Pine) and brown (Cappuccino and Mocha). I inked up part of my stamps with my lightest shade first then added some of the darker shade of ink before I stamped on Desert Storm cardstock. I made sure the two colors over lapped slightly and blended any harsh lines of ink with my finger. I did this twice for each image to get a nice clear and well covered stamped image. Don’t worry as long as you ink your stamp with your lightest shade first, your ink pads won’t get ruined.
Next, I used the brand NEW coordinating dies to cut all my images. I used some Fallen Acorn and Unravelled Mica Stain to splatter on these images before adhering them with glue and foam squares to my background panel.
I heat embossed a sentiment with black ink and clear embossing powder, then adhered it directly to my background panel.
I hope you are getting a head start on all your handmade Christmas cards for this year. Thank you so much for stopping and I will see you next time. Happy crafting!! April
