Hi crafty friends! If you came here from the Pear Blossom Press Blog, welcome. I am so glad you are here. I am busy building up my birthday card stash this summer and love how this one turned out. I grabbed a few products from some of my favorite companies as well as the amazing Twinkle Light from Pear Blossom Press to great this Celebrate You card.
ALL SUPPLIES ARE LISTED BELOW!!
First, I ink blended an A2 piece of Mixed Media Cardstock in rainbow order. I used the Altenew Small Blending Brushes and Catherine Pooler Inks in It’s a Girl, Do Si Do, Limoncello, Garden Party, and Oh Boy!. I then used each of these inks to spatter over their corresponding ink blended color. I ran this panel through a die cut machine with the Candle Cover Plate from Honey Bee Stamps.
I carefully left the pieces in the panel to make it easier to transfer them to a white piece of cardstock. I added liquid adhesive to the back of the candles and flames only and placed the panel directly over the white cardstock panel and pressed firmly. Then I carefully removed the panel leaving only the candles and flames on the white cardstock. Any pieces that did not stick I used the background piece as a guide to place them where they belong.
I once again added spatter with the ink pads to the corresponding areas, then spattered the entire panel with Liquid Stardust from Lawn Fawn. I trimmed this panel to 4×5.25″.
I went direct to paper with It’s a Girl Ink Pad around the edges of a white A2 piece of cardstock. This will be the panel I pop the candle panel up on.
Again, I went direct to paper with Garden Party Ink to a scrap piece of white cardstock, then die cut Celebrate You from Concord and 9th’s Just Say More Die Set. I also die cut two more and adhered the three together to add dimension. The shadow piece of Celebrate You, I die cut from Pear Blossom Press White Vellum. I adhered the pieces together.
I used small pieces of thin foam squares behind the letters in Celebrate You so it will pop up a bit when adhered to the background panel. I used an 1/8th inch hole punch to punch holes in my candle panel behind the centers of the E’s in Celebrate.
I taped the lights from the Twinkle Light behind the holes with clear tape. I added the battery and tested the Twinkle Light to make sure it was working. After I stamped “Press Here” from the PB Press Stamp and Die Bundle with Oh Boy! Ink, I die cut it with the small circle die in the set.
I grabbed a piece of white crinkle seam binding and tied it to the bottom part of the candle panel before I placed the battery pack in the lower corner of the candle panel. I used World’s Greatest Foam Tape to hold the battery pack in place and around the entire panel. I love that the World’s Greatest Foam Tape is the perfect height for the battery pack of the Twinkle Light. This means no doubling up of foam tape.
I added the “Press Here” over the on button to the front of the candle panel. Then, I removed the release paper from the Foam Tape after checking that the lights were twinkling properly and placed this panel on the piece of cardstock I added the It’s a Girl Ink to the edges.
Using Glossy Accents, I completely covered Celebrate You. Then I quickly added Rock Candy Glitter and gently tapped off the excess glitter. I set this aside to dry. This was then added over the holes in the candle panel so the lights twinkle through the centers of the E’s. The thin foam squares on the back allow the lights to shine and twinkle under the sentiment so well. I love how it turned out.
Lastly, I added the panel to a heavy weight card base and adhered lots of color coordinating gems to each section of the rainbow background. The gems were some I found in my stash.
I love how festive this birthday card turned out. I hope this inspires you to give the Twinkle Lights a try. They are so much fun and I know you will love them. Make sure to check out all the inspiration on the Pear Blossom Press Blog. Thank you so much for stopping by and I will see you next time!
