Reindeer with Christmas Lights – Pear Blossom Press Design Team

Hi Crafty Friends! If you have arrived here from the Pear Blossom Press Blog, welcome and I am so delighted to have you here.I am NEW to the Pear Blossom Press Blog Design Team and am so excited.I have so many ideas for their awesome interactive products.I love this fun Reindeer card with the Christmas tree lights that are all lit up!!

ALL SUPPLIES ARE LISTED BELOW!!

I began by creating my background panel (4×5.25″) using a Peppermint Stripes Stencil with some Christmas Cardinal Red Paper Glaze Luxe.  I set this aside to dry.

I die cut the reindeer from the Cheery Deer Die Set out of white heavy weight cardstock except for the outline image which I die cut out of Portobella Cardstock.  I then used Olo Markers (Reindeer – O 7.1,7.3, 7.5 WG 0,1,3 Antlers – CG 7,9 Cheeks and Ears R 0.1, 0.2) to color the reindeer.  I did go over the Portobella outline piece with O 7.3 to darken it up slightly as I thought it looked better.  Then I adhered all the pieces in place and added a red pearl for the nose.

I cut the solid lights die using heavy weight white cardstock and Vellum. I colored the lights on bothusing Olo Markers (R 1.5, B 0.5, G1.4, Y 2.3).  The outline lights image was die cut with a scrap of metallic silver cardstock. An 1/8th inch hole punch was used to create a hole in a red, yellow and blue lightbulb on the white solid image.  I set these aside before adhering together.

Using the Scalloped A2 Card Frames, I die cut 2 of the middle size and adhered these together.  I did this so that when the lights are put in place no light will be seen through this panel.  I stamped“Press Here” from the Stamp and Die Bundle in black Ink in the lower right corner of the scalloped frame above where the battery for the EZ Light would go.  I glued the reindeer in place but left the antlers unglued so I could put the lights in place around them.

Before adhering my three light pieces together, I used the solid light die cut as a placement guide to punch the holes in my scalloped frame. After adhering my light pieces together I carefully placed them in and around the antlers making sure the holes lined up perfectly with the holes in the frame.  I applied some liquid adhesive to adhere them in place.

I flipped my scalloped frame over and put EZ Lights behind each of the 3 holes that I punched earlier.  I then taped them in place.  Next, I put the World’s Best Foam Tape around the outside of the frame, cutting down where I needed to for the battery lights.  This foam tape is the perfect thickness for the light systems. Once I had everything in place, I carefully flipped the frame over and made sure the battery was perfectly placed under the “Press Here” on the front of this panel.

I removed the backing from the foam tape which comes off easily and put my panel in place on my stenciled background.  The World’s Greatest Foam Tape is repositionable for 30 minutes which allowed me to get this panel exactly where I wanted it.

I stamped a sentiment and heat embossed it on some of Sentiment Stock which is amazing for heat embossing.  The heat embossed images always turn out perfect.  This was trimmed down and placed below the panel with the deer on it.  To finish the card, I put the entire panel on a top folding heavy weight card base.

I had so much fun creating this fun “light” up card. Thank you so much for stopping by today andI will see you next time!  Happy crafting!  April
