Pear Blossom Press and Heffy Doodle Collaboration Blog Hop

Hey friends!  Today, we’re kicking off a CRAFTY Collaboration Blog Hop with Pear Blossom Press and Heffy Doodle !  Come hop along with us and see some awesome light-up cards!  Plus, each company will be giving away £20/$25 PRIZES!  All you have to do to be entered to win is to leave a comment at each stop along our Hop Lineup before May 29th at 11:59 PM EDT.  Winners will be announced on the Pear Blossom Press & Heffy Doodle Blogs on 5.31.24!

My card features PRODUCTS from Pear Blossom Press and PRODUCTS from Heffy Doodle.  I paired the amazing One Light from Pear Blossom Press with the cute Camping Critters Stamp Set and Dies from Heffy Doodle. These products are a perfect pairing.

I created my background using Distress Spray Stains. I used two A2 panels of white mixed media cardstock. I sprayed one with some Tumbled Glass Spray Stain then spritzed with water. I dried this with a heat tool then added some Unchartered Mariner Spray Stain to this panel. Then on the other panel, I used Mowed Lawn Spray Stain as I did before for the sky. I put these aside to dry completely before spattering on some white gouache to create a starry sky on the blue panel. I drew a hill on the green panel and cut this out then adhered it to the sky panel. Once the stars were dry, I die cut the panel with one of the Deckled Paper Hugs Dies.

Next, I created my critters. I stamped the images I selected from the Camping Critters Stamp Set from Heffy Doodle with alcohol friendly ink. I colored these images using Olo Markers. For the logs and smores, I used 0 7.8, O7.7, O7.3, O7.1. I used O2.7, O2.5, O2.4, O2.2, and Y 2.3 for the flame. For the raccoons I used, C-G 9 (nose), C-G 7, C-G 5, C-G 3, C-G 1, C-G 0, and R 0.2 (inner ears). I used the coordinating die set for the Camping Critters to die cut these images.

I used an 1/8″ hold punch to punch a hole in the flame of the campfire. I used a pencil to mark on my background panel where I needed to punch a hole in it for the campfire to light up. Then, I adhered a small Candle Flame over the hole. I glued the campfire directly onto the panel. I then used a One Light from Pear Blossom Press with the battery in place to determine where I needed to place “PUSH” from the PB Press Stamp and Die Bundle on the front of the panel. Once I was happy with the placement, I heat embossed “PUSH” with black pigment ink and clear embossing powder.

I placed the One Light back in place so the light was directly behind the hole in the flame of the campfire and the button was under “PUSH”. I then secured this in place using World’s Greatest Foam Tape around the One Light and the back of the entire panel. I die cut a piece of navy cardstock with one of Deckle Paper Hugs Dies. I removed the release paper from the World’s Greatest Foam Tape (which is double height to it works perfectly with the One Light) and placed it on the navy panel. This panel was then adhered to a white heavy weight card base.

I added my raccoons, smore and marshmallow using thin foam squares. To finish the card, I heat embossed a sentiment with black pigment ink and clear embossing powder on white cardstock. I trimmed this down and used thin foam squares to pop it up on the sky.
