I used the NEW Village Die Set for my card today and I love how this little scene came together. The pastel colors are a bit non traditional and I have really been having fun this season using non traditional colors.

I creating a background using Distress Oxides (Speckled Egg, Tumbled Glass, and Uncharted Mariner). I used a foam ink blending tool as I find I get a much more saturated blend with these. So I tend to use them with Oxides for backgrounds. I then used the Snowstorm Stencil and Distress Sparkle Texture Paste over the background. Once this was dry I splattered on some white gouache for some more interest.

I then cut a snowy hill from White Frosting Chunky Glitter Cardstock (Your Paper Insider) using one of the hill dies from the Village Die Set and adhered this directly to the background panel.

I die cut several houses and trees from the Village Die set from heavy weight white cardstock and ink blended them with some light pastel inks (Pink Fresh Studio: Ballet Slipper, Mint and Lemon Whip). I also cut and ink blended several trees using Pink Fresh Grassy Knoll ink.

For the trees I applied a light layer of Sparkle Paste over them for some added interest. Then I applied Snowfall Grit Paste to the roofs of the houses. I allowed all of these to dry before assembling. I splattered some white gouache over all these.

I glued my houses together on a piece of scrap cardstock to hold all the little pieces in place then cut around the images. I used foam squares to pop up a house and a a few trees to add dimension to my scene.

I created a two toned sentiment from the Snow Family Stamp Set using darker shades of pink and mint. I popped this up above my village scene. This was then adhered to a top fold card base and I added some clear sequins for more interest.

I don’t create many scene cards but am having a ton of fun with this Village Die Set. Are you a scene creator? Thank you for stopping by and I will see you next time! Happy crafting!! April
