Owls in the Moonlight with EZ Lights – Pear Blossom Press

Hi Crafty Friends! It is springtime in North Central Texas and the weather is beautiful. All the critters are out and about. I can hear owls hooting at night. This card is simple yet kicked up a notch with some EZ Lights. If you came here from the Pear Blossom Press Blog, welcome.

ALL SUPPLIES ARE LISTED BELOW!

The background panel was created by ink blending a night sky. I use an ink blending tool along with Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Prize Ribbon and Chipped Sapphire. I trimmed this panel down to 4×5.25″. I started lighter where I wanted the moon to be to create a nice glow. To finish the background, I spattered some Liquid Stardust on the panel.

I then ink blended my moon with the Tim Holtz Moon Mask and Distress Oxide Inks in Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap. I used a Nesting Circle to die cut my moon. Then I used a circle one size smaller to die cut a circle in the middle of my moon glow on the background panel.

I then heat embossed a sentiment from Gina K Designs Woodland Friends Stamp Set and “Press” from the Pear Blossom Press PB Press Stamp and Die Bundle on the front of the background panel using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and Clear Embossing Powder.

I then added my EZ Lights. I taped my lights on the background panel so that the lights were between the background panel and the moon. I also taped the wires on the back on the panel to hold everything tightly in place. I added the battery to my EZ Light and put it under the ‘Press.’ I used World’s Greatest Foam Tape to cover the back of the panel and hold the battery pack in place. Then I added to foam squares to my moon and placed it over the circle on the front of the panel. Then added World’s Greatest Foam Tape over the foam squares on the back. This allows the moon to be popped up and the lights to shine better.

I removed the release paper and placed this on a top folding card base.

Next, I stamped my owls and branch from the Woodland Friends Stamp Set with alcohol friendly ink. I colored these with Olo Markers. Owl One: WG1, WG3, WG5, O2.5. Owl Two: RG3, RG5, O2.5. Branch and Leaves: O7.3, O7.7, O7.8, YG8.5, YG8.7. I die cut the images and glued the branch and one owl directly to the background. The other owl was popped up with a couple foam squares.

I then added some silver stars I had in my stash all around the background panel.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Check out the Pear Blossom Press Blog for lots of inspiration using EZ Lights and their other awesome products. I hope you enjoyed this fun card. See you next time!
