January Card Kit – 3 Cards (Simon Says Stamp)

Hello crafty friends! I can’t believe how fast the new year is going! I took some time to set some goals and try to get organized. One of my goals is to use my monthly subscription kits. I get a few from different companies and one of those is from Simon Says Stamp. I love that their kits have a large 6×8 stamp set, cardstock, envelopes, plus other great products. Also they have been sending a mesh bag to store everything in as well. These mesh bags make great on the go project holders. I use them every time we travel.

Today I made three cards using the January 2023 kit. It is snowflake themed and I love snowflakes. I used the ink pad included to base my color scheme on for all three cards. All products used are listed below. I do have a video showing the kit contents and how I made my cards. Make sure to check it out, here.

My first card uses the enclosed Color Blend Cardstock from Simon Says Stamp. I love this cardstock. It is slick so be careful if stamping on this cardstock. Also liquid glue moves easily on this cardstock so apply a small amount and place on cardstock carefully. The enclosed Deco Sheets are really thin. I found that adhering them to white cardstock prior to die cutting made them easier to work with and to die cut from.

For my second card, I grabbed the enclosed ink pad and did some ink smooshing. I did use a piece of Distress Watercolor cardstock for this technique. It holds the water really well and makes for a beautiful finished panel. The Pawsitively Saturated Ink from Simon Says Stamp is water reactive so you can add water splatters using a spray bottle. Make sure to watch my video to learn some great tips for vellum.

My last card, I used the same enclosed ink pad and ink blended a panel of the 110 lb. cardstock that is included in the card kit. I keep it darker on the outside of the panel and got lighter toward the center. Using a Misti helped me to line up my stamped image as well. Make sure your panel is completely dry before embossing so your embossing powder only sticks to your stamped image.

I only used a few products from the card kit to make these 3 cards. There are so many possibilities and you can make many different cards with each kit. Also I love the sentiments that are on the Simon Says Stamp 6×8 stamp sets that they include in their card kits.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope this post and my video give you some ideas on how to use this awesome kit. I love getting the most out of the products and subscriptions I receive. I will be sharing lots of inspiration here and on social medio on different monthly subscriptions and kits.
