Ink Blended Pink Poinsettia Card – Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps

Hi Crafty Friends! I love to use pink for Christmas cards and projects. It is a little non traditional which is fun. I tend to stick to greens and reds way too often so stepping out of my comfort zone is good for my creativity.

For my background panel I run a piece of white cardstock through my Platinum 6 Die Cut machine with my Snowstorm stencil to create an embossed image. Make sure to spritz your cardstock first and follow your machine’s directions for embossing. This is a very subtle effect on the overall card but can be seen better in person than in photos.

Next, with the stencil in place I ink blended the snowflakes with pink ink. I used mica stain in Winterberry to spray over the entire panel. This was then trimmed down and mounted with fun foam on a Fog gray A2 panel of cardstock.

I used my mini ink blending tools from I Crafter and my Misti to stamp my poinsettias and leaves from the Poinsettia Wishes Stamp Set. I used a lighter ink on the center of my poinsettia and the ends of my leaves. I applied the ink with my mini ink blending tools to the stamp itself and stamped it a couple times until I was happy. I then inked the outside of the petals and the bottoms of the leaves with darker inks, again using the mini ink blending tools.

Once I was happy with my images, I die cut them all. I stacked up 2 of the poinsettias and slightly off set them to create a more full flower image. I used foam squares between layers and to adhere to my card panel. I tucked my leaves in around my flower. I used a paint brush handle to curl my petals slightly. Shimmer was added to the poinsettia with an Aqua Shimmer Pen.

I created a sentiment with Silver embossing powder and the Christmas Sentiments Set on Fog gray cardstock. This was popped up with foam squares.

To finish my card I added some bling with some pearls from my stash and adhered the panel to a top folding heavy weight card base.

This pink scheme has me wanting to make some pink themed Christmas tags too. So you may see those soon. I hope this inspires you to think outside of traditional Christmas colors and try something different. Thank you so much for stopping by and I will see you next time. Happy crafting! April
