Hi Crafty Friends! Welcome to the November Release from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps. It is also Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps 16th Birthday this month! I am so excited to be sharing this card that features brand NEW products as well as some older products to help celebrate. I used the NEW Cocoa’s Birthday Wish to create a winter birthday card. I began by creating a background panel by doing some ink smooshing with Distress Oxide Inks (Speckled Egg and Tumbled Glass) then adding sprays stains (Speckled Egg and Tumbled Glass) along with mica spray stains (Frozen Fog and Winter Frost).
After this piece dried, I used the largest die from the NEW Stitched Rectangle Die Set to cut out my background panel. I grabbed some Opaque Distress Grit Paste and the Snowstorm Stencil to add another layer of interest to my panel. This paste doesn’t take too long to dry but I did set it aside while I got all the other components finished.
I stamped an image from the NEW Cocoa’s Birthday Wish Stamp Set with an alcohol friendly ink. I used Olo markers (mouse- WG 0, 1, 3, 5 9, R0.1 Gift- R 0.1, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, B 4.3, 4.6 4.7) to color the image. I then fussy cut the image out.
I die cut one of the circles from the Sweet Scalloped Circles Die Set. Since the die cuts the image in 2 parts, I taped the inside circle to the outside decorative edge on the back. I then popped up my mouse image on my circle.
Before mounting this onto the background panel, I wrapped some grosgrain ribbon around my background panel. Then I popped the circle and mouse up with foam squares over the ribbon.
I heat embossed a sentiment from the Cocoa’s Birthday Wish Stamp Set with Wow Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder on some red cardstock. I used foam squares to pop this up toward the top of my panel. This entire panel was then all adhered with liquid glue to a top folding heavy weight cardstock.
I think creating wintery birthday cards are fun. It allows us to use our seasonal supplies for more than just the Christmas holiday.
