Hi crafty friends! I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. I spent mine in the beautiful Rocky Mountains in North New Mexico. It was cold but so very pretty. Today, I have a card using the Great Friends Stamp and Die Set from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps for you. This set came out a while ago, and I still love it. Over on Instagram, the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Design Team is bringing you an Inspirational Instagram hop. Make sure to come Hop with us to see some beautiful projects and have a chance at a great prize.
ALL SUPPLIES ARE LISTED BELOW!!
In January I took an on line class (with Tiffany Solorio) about Distress Sprays. I learned so much in that class and am hooked on inky backgrounds. For this background panel, I used a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock (I used the smooth side) with Distress Spray Stain in Seedless Preserves and Distress Oxide Spray in Picked Raspberry. I spritzed my background with water then sprayed Picked Raspberry on the top portion of the panel and Seedless Preserves on the bottom portion. I used my hand to shield the Picked Raspberry from the Seedless preserves. I sprayed with a little more water and tilted my card up and down to move the pigment around. I dried this completely, then repeated the process. I then spattered water over the panel and dried. I did both of these until I was happy with the depth of color.
Next, I let this panel dry completely, then I die cut it using the largest die in the Stitched Rectangle Die Set. I stamped the Script Background Stamp on the panel using Unicorn White Pigment Ink. This is very subtle but is very pretty and really compliments the background. Using a wet paintbrush, I picked up some white pigment ink that I smooshed on my Glass Craft Mat and spattered it over the panel.
I stamped my image from the Great Friends Stamp Set with alcohol friendly black ink. I colored my image with Olo Markers. I used R 5.5, R 5.3, R 5.1 plus V 1.6 and V 1.1 for the cup. The dirt was colored with O 7.3 and O 7.1. For the plant I used my go to green combo of YG 8.7, YG 8.5 and YG 2.5. I then die cut the image out.
I die cut a circle from the Stitched Circles 2 Die Set and popped my colored image up using foam squares.
For my sentiment, I stamped it in black pigment ink and heat embossed using clear embossing powder. I used my paper trimmer to trim this down.
Next, I assembled my card. I wrapped some polka dot ribbon from my stash around the panel and popped my colored image up over it using foam squares. Then I placed my sentiment in the top right corner with more foam squares. I added a few white pearls around the card, then adhered the entire panel to a top folding heavy weight card base.

Happy crafting! April
