Altenew Marvelous Monthly Release – Spark Joy

I am super excited about the new Marvelous Monthly Release from Altenew. I love that Altenew has added a hot foil option to their monthly subscriptions. The first Spark Joy subscription is so cute this month. I love butterflies and these cuties are perfect.

My card is a mini slimline card and I don’t know why I don’t make more cards this size. I first used the stencil set to create my focal point for my butterfly to land on. I used colors I don’t tend to grab. I used Yellow Ochre and Olive Crisp Dye Inks for my leafy stem and I blended on Hammermill cardstock. These 2 look fabulous together. I also ink blended the strip my sentiment will sit on with the Yellow Ochre Crisp Dye Ink as well. I love doing this technique as it makes the cardstock and ink match perfectly.

After I finished ink blending my stencil image, I used the most solid butterfly from the Spark Joy: Fluttering Butterflies hot foil plate set with some gold foil to create my butterfly that appears to have landed on this leafy stem. I always use Hammermill cardstock for hot foiling as I find I get better results.

I then splattered my panel using gold from the Metallic Watercolor Set. I popped the Yellow Ochre ink blended strip up with Instant Dimension Foam Tape towards the bottom of my panel. I grabbed the Thanks from the Seasonal Blooms die set and cut that from Brushed Gold cardstock and layered that on 2 more Thanks die cut outs of white for some dimension. I then, adhered the Thanks on the Yellow Ochre strip.

To finish my card, I added some Gold Satin Sequins then added the panel to my mini slimline card base.

This card came together super fast and I love the sparkle of the gold on the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope this inspires you to get your hot foil system out and do some foiling. I must say the hot foil and stencil combo is a must try.
