Hi crafty friends! I am excited to be playing along with the July Inspiration Challenge with Altenew. Check out the Altenew Challenge Post for all the details.
This is the challenge inspiration photo and colors. I did not have anything this shade of blue so I blended two colors together and got pretty close to this blue color. It took me awhile to decide on which stamp set I wanted to use as I have a vast collection of Altenew sets. It is always fun to go through them and pick a set to use. In the end, I decided on the beautiful Fairy Tale Florals stamp set.
I created my background panel by swiping Limestone Crisp Dye Ink (ALL SUPPLIES ARE LISTED BELOW) diagonally across a piece of white cardstock. I swiped the ink pad a total of three times. I then used the Moroccan Tile 3D Embossing Folder and ran it through my Platinum 6 Die Cut Machine.
I heat embossed the large floral image from the Fairy Tale Florals stamp set using Clear Embossing Ink and Platinum Crisp Embossing Powder. Once this was heat set, I stamped that image with my Limestone ink (any ink will do) on some masking paper. Since I don’t have the stencils that go with this set, I used masking to ink blend my images. I carefully cut around the stamped images to use for masking. I colored one image at a time using my Mini Blending Brushes. For the pink images I used Cotton Candy Crisp Dye Ink with Puffy Heart in the centers. Lavender Fields and Iceberg were ink blended on top of each other to create the color of blue I wanted for this challenge. Lastly, I used Firefly and Parrot for the leaves.
I carefully placed the cut out masked images around where I would be ink blending moving them as needed. Notice I colored one flower pink and one blue with the third a combination of pink and blue. The Fairy Tale Florals stamp set is a multi step stamp set, so I next stamped my images using the detail stamps (they are all labeled with letters and numbers so you know what stamp goes with which image). I used the darker of my ink colors for this step.
Once my floral image was done, I used the coordinating die and cut out the large image. I put Instant Dimension Foam Tape on the back to pop it up on my background panel. Once I adhered it where I wanted, I cut off any of the image that was hanging over the edge of the background panel.
I used the dies that go with the Encouraging Sentiments set to die cut “Love You” three times from white card stock. Using liquid adhesive I layered these together. Then I put each word in the embossing ink to get the front nice and inked up. I sprinkled Platinum Crisp Embossing Powder over the images and heat set them with my heat tool. I then repeated this process for a nice smooth look. I let the embossing powder cool between coats.
I adhered these to the card in the upper right corner. ThenI adhered this to a top fold heavy weight card base. To finish my card I grabbed some Rock Collection Enamel Dots to place around my card for some added interest.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my July Inspiration Challenge Card. Make sure to check out this fun challenge over on the Altenew blog. I loved the colors chosen for this month’s challenge as I think they make such beautiful flowers. Check below for all supplies that were used to create this card. And I will see you next time!
