Hello Crafty Friends! Today I have cards that feature products by Kat Scrappiness. Their Fluttering By stamp set and coordinating dies are so darling. Be prepared for more cards made with these products. I also grabbed the super fun Lindy’s Magicals Powders to create the beautiful butterflies.

Products used:

  • I began by creating the cardstock I would then stamp and die cut the buttterflies from. I used Distress Watercolor Cardstock and sprinkled very lightly 2 colors from the Prairie Wilderflowers Magical Powders onto it. On one piece of the watercolor cardstock I used Bachelor Button Blue and Yellow Rose of Texas, then on another piece I used Peony Scarlet Red and Yellow Rose of Texas. You don’t need much of these powders so start with very little as you can always add more.
  • Spray the powders with water and watch them react. Add more powder as needed. When you have a background you like, set it aside to dry.

  • Use a piece of 110 lb cardstock with the Plaid Company Embossing Powder and run it through your die cut machine. Make sure to use the proper sandwich for your machine.
  • Trim this down to 4×5.25
  • Adhere this to an A2 piece of Saffron Cardstock with foam tape.
  • On the red and yellow Magicals background, stamp the 2nd and 3rd layer of the largest butterfly from the Fluttering By stamp set in black ink. You may need to stamp it twice.

  • Then use the coordinating die set to cut the butterflies out.
  • Adhere them to the embossed card panel using liguid glue only on the middle (body) part of the butterflies. Then place Foam Squares under each wing to add dimension.
  • Cut 3 Thanks from Saffron Cardstock. Adhere these together with liquid glue. Then adhere to a die cut black thanks shadow.
  • Adhere this above the butterflies.
  • Add Gold Baubles to the butterflies and a few around the card.
  • Adhere this panel to a heavy weight card base.

  • Dry emboss the Heart Sunburst on a piece of white cardstock using your die cut machine.
  • Trim this down on the dotted line that the cover die left when you dry embossed it.
  • Use foam tape to adhere this panel to an A2 piece of Matte Silver Cardstock.
  • Die cut Thanks once from the Metallic Jewels Kraft Cardstock and 2 more times from scrap white cardstock. Adhere these together with liquid glue. Then glue to dry embossed panel.
  • Once again stamp the 2nd and 3rd layers of the largest butterfly from the Fluttering By stamp set with silver ink.
  • Die cut the butterflies
  • Use liquid glue and foam squares to adhere the butterflies to the dry embossed panel just like in Card 1.
  • Adhere Bubbles to the butterflies and card panel.
  • Adhere entire panel to top folding heavy weight card base.

It is always fun to get inky and these powders create stunning results. I love how beautiful the butterflies turned out on these cards. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope this inspires you to get inky and create some stunning cards.
