Hello Crafty Friends!! I got all inky making this fun die cut card using Spellbinders August 2022 Large Die of the Month and Embossing Folder of the Month. All die cut cards are always so fun and for this card I used Distress Spray Stains to color my cardstock. I find that I get lost in the process of inking and die cutting.

Supplies Used:

I went through all my Distress Spray Stains and choose colors that went well together or that I wanted for different parts of my flowers. Then the messy fun of ink smooshing began.

  • I then added some Iridescent Shimmer Spray to both the pink and purple panels to add some shine to my flower die cut pieces. I used a splat box to keep the spray contained.

  • After these panels all dried completely. I began die cutting. I used my Mini Blossom as all the images were small. This little machine is a work horse. I used the fun Outlined Sentiments (August 2022 Small Die of the Month) for all my images.
  • I assembled all the flowers and let dry.

  • I then die cut a sentiments from the same set out of Onyx Black and white cardstock. I layered the black 3 times for some dimension.
  • I ran a piece of Fog cardstock through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine in the August 2022 Embossing Folder of the Month (Intertwined Lattice). I trimmed this down to 4 x 5.25 for a background panel.

  • I arranged the flowers on the bottom of this landscape panel. I adhered the flowers with foam squares and all the leaves and stems directly to the background panel.
  • I then used some fun foam on the back of the fog panel and adhered it to a heavy weight card base.

I hope this card inspires you to make your own colored panels for your die cut projects. You can use sprays, watercolors, copics, reinkers, ink pads, or any other color medium. Have fun and get inky.

Thank you so much for stopping by. You are all so much appreciated.
