Hello crafty friends! I put off Altenew’s For the Guys class because I struggle with cards for males sometimes. The class taught by Jennifer Rzasa reminded me that I just need to not over think these cards and remember what men/boys enjoy. So I went geometric and simple. I wasn’t sure about the card when I finished but my husband loved it. The Geo Steps 3D Embossing Folder is one of my most reached for items in my stamp room right now. This folder is perfect for guy cards though. The geometric design and texture is perfect.

I used my Mini Ink Cubes from Altenew in the colors Mountain Pine and Shadow Creek. I used Mountain Pine directly on my embossing folder to make some of the texture pop more. I love this technique and use it often with my embossing folders. On this folder I got a rough look with this technique. This is what my husband loved the most about the card. For my sentiment I used the Label Love stamp set and stamped the happy birthday with Shadow Creek ink. There are a ton of color options for this card that fits guys but I gravitated to greens this day. Blue, red, orange, brown, gray, plus many more would be great choices.

I layered the sentiment on some Pitch Black Cardstock from Hero Arts. I love dimension so added some foam tape to the back of my sentiment. I layered some Neenah Desert Storm Cardstock on some Pitch Black Cardstock before adding it to a heavy weight top folding card base. Then I used some foam tape on the back of my cut down geometric panel and mounted that on top of the Desert Storm Cardstock. The sentiment was placed on last.

I plan to make a few more of these in various colors for my card stash so I am glad my husband pointed out how much he really liked the card.

I hope you got a little inspiration to make some guy cards and enjoyed today’s post. Have a great day creating something.
