Altenew’s All About Layering 1 Class:

September 18, 2020

Hello Crafty Friends!!  So glad you stopped by.  I am thrilled to have been accepted into Altenew’s Education Certification Program (AECP).  I am loving everything I have been learning as I work my way through the classes and setting up this blog.  Altenew has wonderful education classes for all levels of card makers.  Check them out at .        Technology is not my thing so it has taken a little longer than I hoped to get this blog up.  But here we go.

The first class I took for my Level 1 AECP was the All About Layering 1 taught by Nicole Picadura.  Nicole did a wonderful job teaching about looking for points to line up layering stamps perfectly every time.   Floral stamps can be a bit tricky to line up so the tips were very helpful.

I chose the Balloon Flower Build a Flower set for this card.  I love the Build a Flower monthly subscription as it feeds my love of floral stamps and dies.  I have a large collection of the Altenew Mini Ink Cube Sets and used the Rose Petal and Tropical Forest sets.  The ink cube sets save me so much time choosing colors to put together for layering stamps.  After stamping my balloon flowers and leaves, I used the dies that came with the subscription to cut my images.

I used an acrylic block, a watercolor brush and some Rubelitte ink to add some splatter to the background.

I mounted some flowers and leaves directly on the background and I used foam tape to pop up a couple as well to add some dimension.

Craft foam was used to pop the top panel onto the card base. I love to use heavy weight cardstock, usually 110 lb to 130 lb, for my card bases. A little sparkle is always fun so I added some Lucy’s Cards sequins to finish this card.

I hope you enjoyed this quick and simple card. Have a great day!!
